Fort Edmonton Highland Games
We regret to announce that the Fort Edmonton Highland Games (Celtic Gathering) scheduled for July 14-15 of this year has been cancelled.
This decision was made by the VP of Operations of Fort Edmonton Park (see photo). Neither the event organizers (Geoff Murray, and Alex MacIntyre), or the ASPD support their decision. Both the Fort Edmonton Celtic Gathering Association, and the ASPD extend their sincerest apologies for the lateness of this decision and any inconveniences involved. An announcement will be made shortly in regards to refunds. Any questions, comments, or concerns can be forwarded to John Stewart via the ASPD FaceBook page, or outlawstewart@gmail.com.
The same questions, comments, or concerns could perhaps also be directed towards the VP of Operations (contact info is in the photo). The ASPD would like to extend it’s most heartfelt appreciation to Geoff and Alex, all those who have been involved in organizing the event in the past, and all the competitors, families, and spectators who have supported and enjoyed this event over the past 29 years.
A statement from Geoff, and Alex reads:
"Good Day,
We would like to let you know that Alex and I met with the new VP, Operations, Fort Edmonton Park yesterday Monday, June 11, 2018 at which time he advised that a decision had been made to cancel the “Signature Event” scheduled for July 14-15, 2018 (see attached letter).
We are extremely disappointed with this decision given that the event was to take place in 30 days. We sincerely thank you all for your continued support and participation in the successful Celtic Gatherings over the many years.
Regards,
Geoff & Alex"
Thank You
Arrangements will be made to return entry fees for those that have already registered for events.
