The Canmore Highland Games has become an integral part of the Canmore community over the years and a well-loved event at the end of the summer. Bringing visitors from all over the world, the Highland Games helps to share Scottish music and heritage, the beauty of the mountain town and also brings sustainability of many local small businesses.

As a sanctioned ASPD event for piping and drumming, the Canmore Highland Games follows the music requirements as set out by the Music Committee, which can be found here. To compete in solo and band competitions, competitors must be a 2025 ASPD (or affiliated Society) member in good standing. For ASPD membership information, visit the Membership page.


The Canmore Highland Games follows the rules as set out by the ASPD and reserves the right to cancel events as required. In consideration of your submitting an entry, you will, for yourself , your heir(s), executor and administrators, waive and release any rights for damages you may have against the Alberta Society of Pipers & Drummers and Canmore Highland Games, its agents, representatives, successors and assignees for any and all injuries suffered at or through the aforementioned events.
